Help please!

These two pups are very serious about the game of tug-a-war. They destroyed the brand new pull rope I bought them on Day One. They have other toys like Kongs and rubber tires, but it's just not the same as the pull rope. They quickly discovered that collars work just as good as a real pull-rope. RIP Tucker's bright red collar. Now every time I look up, Tucker is biting at Jackson's collar (oh yeah, the hubs re-named him!). I hollar "NO!" when I catch him doing it, but it only temporary puts an end to the collar-terminating.

The only solution is to find a pull-rope that isn't as easily destroyed as the last one was. Any suggestions?? Please?

Our dog Glenda has a big pull rope nad she's had it for almost a year and a half. It's still in good condition and she plays rough with it! Although we don't have another dog, my husband plays with her. :)

Ha! They sound like my dogs. :)
Do they break them just from tugging at them? Or do they like to chew them later? If it's just tugging, I'd suggest investing in the more expensive ones, because I know the cheap rope ones that WalMart has go FAST. So that might help. If they just like to tear them apart by chewing at them? I'd try different toys to get their attention and hide the rope away for tug of war fights only. My dogs LOVE the bones that are colored in the middle and are suppose to taste like chicken. I'm not sure what they're called but they have them everywhere and they're actually pretty durable for a serious chewer. Oh, and we also give our dogs rawhide bones or chips. They LOVE it, we just are careful not to give them too much or else it upsets our shepherd's digestion.
Glad you guys found a good name! :D

I have a lab and a pit bull and the only rope that I have been able to find that they can not destroy in one day is a large one from Tractor Supply Co. or TSC. I think they are called Dog Floss or something like that. They love them and my husband can play with the pit bull and he does not destroy them. I think we buy new ones every 6 months because they get so dirty or lost. Also I think they are about $8-12 but totally worth it. and everywhere else I have seen them they are a lot more expensive. Hope this helps!

First of all, love the name Jackson. I would have tried that myself, but I'm crossing my fingers I'll get to use for an actual child one day. Secondly, thanks for this post. We are needing ideas for more durable toys, as well!
